Spring is in the air

I'd like to say that it's finally starting to feel like spring and it sort of is:
  • it's going to be 69 degrees today, finally! 
  • we have a patch of patio showing in our backyard, which as long as you ignore the piles of dog poop that are also emerging with the melting snow, is exciting
  • I have finally mentally moved into spring cleaning mode at home - closets are getting cleaned out this weekend, small clothes are being donated and snow pants and boots are optimistically being washed and stored in the basement for next year.
I've been trying to mentally get myself to that spring cleaning place for the past few weeks but it's been hard. When you wake up to 18 degree mornings, wear sweaters to work and stare out over a backyard that's still covered in snow it's hard to mentally get there. 

Why the urgency to get into that spring cleaning place? Well, part of it's my exhaustion with winter but it's also that I feel recharged in the spring. When the weather is nicer, I am more energized to work out, to eat healthy and to live a healthier life style. We bike, take walks, play outside more which not only is better for us physically but after a winter trapped indoors, it's freeing. 

So thanks to the projected temps today, the much needed long weekend ahead of us and the poop-covered exposed brick in our backyard, I'm finally there! Spring is in the air and I'd declaring the winter slump OVER!

21 Day Busy Women's Challenge

Back again after an awesome last round. 21 Days of fitness (with 30 minute workouts), sharing healthy recipes for meals and snacks that are both family-friendly and easy to prepare, talk about time management and balance. We spend a lot of our time taking care of others, especially as a mom, and it often doesn't leave a lot of space for ourselves and what we need physically and emotionally. Together we'll work on really making ourselves a priority for 30 minutes a day and work through the bumps that come with balancing ourselves with our families' need.
