Coaching

Most people have some vague idea of what coaching looks like.

Maybe you were on a soccer team as a kid or played sports in college and had a coach.
Maybe you've volunteered as a coach for a local Little League team.
Maybe you have coached someone in some capacity at work.

Even if you've never been on a team in your life, you've at least seen movies or tv shows or read about teams and by extension, have a sense of what coaching looks like in a traditional sense.

Well, Beachbody coaching is really no different.

When I first started working out to Insanity 2 years ago, I didn't know much about the company. I had seen the infomercials and watched a handful of YouTube videos made by random people testifying to how Insanity worked for them. It wasn't until I stumbled on my coach Melanie Mitro's blog last fall that I knew anything about this whole coaching thing. At the time, I was struggling with balancing my desire to eat healthy as a way to lose those last stubborn pounds and my complete love of food, cooking and all things related to eating. Looking ahead at the holidays last year, I was fearful. If I couldn't stay on the wagon for more than 2 months at a time normally, how would I ever make it through the holiday season without slipping? Enter the challenge group and Melanie. After reading up on the group I figured I had nothing to lose. I mean I'm a goal-oriented person. I needed a kick in the butt, like most people, so the idea of having someone keep me accountable to my goals sounded like it was worth a shot. Even once I signed on to the group I still didn't totally know what I was in for but I was open to trying anything since what I was doing on my own wasn't working for me in any longterm, sustainable way.

How did my coach, Melanie, help me? Well, she was my cheerleader, my source of endless amounts of information on clean eating, recipes, survival tips, and the perfect mix of relate-ability and enforcer that I needed. The group and my coach kept me on track with my goals, checked in when I was struggling, problem-solved how to survive the holidays when eating at my parent's house, and shared some new, cleaner recipes so I didn't have to give up my love of cooking in the quest to eat healthier.

So what then is a Beachbody coach?

It's not one thing. Instead, a coach is:
  • A cheerleader and supporter for their challengers/customers.
  • Someone who works with each of their customers to set realistic health and fitness goals for themselves and then come up with an action plan to achieve them.
  • A source of information on things health and fitness related.
  • Someone who, like everyone, works hard at their own health and fitness.
  • Someone who occasionally struggles with balancing life, work, family and their own needs but who works find ways to overcome those struggles and remain committed to their health and fitness.
  • Someone who is willing to be honest about themselves, their life, and share their ups and downs with others as a way to inspire others to live their lives by design.
What kind of support do I provide to new coaches who join my team?

Well, first off, I will be right there with you helping to mentor you and teach you the business. You are never out there on your own without support. Instead, you'd be joining the Dream Team, the #1 team in the company.
My team runs monthly coach apprenticeship programs where we teach you on the job all the ins and outs of the business.

Beyond that, one of the best things about Beachbody is that you really can make the business what you want/need it to be. If you're ready to hit the ground running before a group starts up, you have me as a resource to help you as you learn the ins and outs of the company.

Beachbody has this down to a science which makes it so much easier for new coaches to get acquainted with the business. Right from the start, you'll have access to a team of experts on health and fitness, access to marketing materials and guidance from other coaches who've done this on how to build your business.

What are the details?

Unlike some companies, this is not a direct sales gig. You have no quotas to meet, no inventory to sell. All that's required is a one time fee of $40 to become a Beachbody coach. This is not a yearly or reoccurring fee and you can also get that $40 fee waived if you sign up with a challenge pack or if you or your spouse is active military. Besides the sign-up fee, all you're responsible for is a monthly fee of $15 which covers the cost of maintaining your Beachbody website and tools.

If you're looking to grow your business, you can choose to create a team of coaches as well.  You can create a business based off of a team of people who are passionate about the same things that you are.  I tend to attract women who are passionate about health and fitness, specifically clean eating stay at home moms but we also have some individuals who want to grow a business and create a full time income!

What are the perks?

Well besides the fact that you get to help people feel better about themselves. you receive a 25% commission on anything somebody buys from Beachbody using one of your links. So if somebody purchases a copy of P90X, you get a check for $29.96 just like that!

You also receive a 25% discount on all Beachbody products including merchandise. Here's to feeding a habit!

What kind of people make good Beachbody coaches?

Honestly, there isn't one mold for a coach. If you:
  • want more financial freedom
  • are interested in working from home and setting your own hours
  • simply want to earn enough to pay for your own monthly Shakeology supply (This was one of my big motivators!)
  • have had great results with Beachbody programs and would you like to help support others in achieving their healthy and fitness goals

Then let's talk about why becoming a Beachbody coach might make sense for you.

This is an opportunity anyone can take advantage of. Our team has stay-at-home moms and dads, business professionals, teachers, nurses, students, you name it! The one unifying factor is that we all want to help support other people in reaching their health and fitness goals.
