What is 22 Minute Hard Corps?

I'm psyched about Beachbody's newest release, 22 Minute Hard Corps. While I'm not a bootcamp die-hard as some are, this program couldn't come at a better time for me. March is my crazy busy month and I'm all about finding ways to save time. 



22 minutes and you're done? Bring it on! No more 45-60 minute programs here - 22 minutes start to finish (including the cool down) - they don't mess around. I can tell you that one workout in, this program is going to do good things for my body AND save me valuable time in the morning.


CAN YOU REALLY GET RESULTS in 22 minutes a day?

Yes you can!  It is all about focusing on the workout, pushing yourself to your max, dialing in your nutrition and following the plan to the T and of course the most important piece of the puzzle (at least I think) is having support and accountability along the way from a coach and challenge group.  There is something about knowing that you're not the only one out there struggling, or having a bad day, or juggling a million things while still trying to find time for yourself.  It's nice to know to know that we are all in this together!  We are getting "bootcamp fit" with 22 Minute Hard Corps.

If you want to get lean and stronger, this program is definitely going to help you do it.  It doesn't matter what your ability level is because each workout has 3 modifiers showing you how to modify to make the program a success for you. Bad knees? No worries, there's a modifier there to show you the low-impact version of the move. No time in your day? You can totally find 22 minutes somewhere be it setting the alarm 20 minutes earlier, fitting it in while dinner's in the oven or in the 20 min. after you get the kids to bed. You CAN make this program work for you if you let it. 



So what is 22 Minute Hard Corps?


It is a bootcamp style workout that was created by Tony Horton (the creator of P90X, P90X2, P90X3, Power 90 and more.)  It is a mixture of 8 routines that alternate between total body cardio & resistance. You do one workout a day, 6 days a week.  The workout is fast paced and there is not a lot of rest (think 22 seconds!) The workouts are easy to pick up and learn though and once you've got it down, you're golden.


What Equipment Do You Need?

Dumbbells or pull up bar (or resistance bands with a door attachment).  There is also an option to purchase a sandbag with your workout (which comes free this month with the challenge pack) which functions like a dumbbell and pushes your body that little bit harder because it's less stable than a weight so it keeps those muscles working!

On March 21st we'll start our pre season which consists of 1 week of goal setting, pictures, measurements, meal planning and education on the nutritional plan and then the following week is our official day 1.

  1. I am interested in learning more about working out with sandbags. It seems to do great things for the people in the military.

    1. It's definitely a great workout with the added weight. So much more challenging than simply using a weight - the instability of the sandbag really works your balance and abs.
