Before you gobble 'til you wobble...

2 years ago I made the decision to take a chance on myself. It seemed crazy, joining a survive the holidays accountability group - I mean who really decides they want to lose weight during the holiday season? Talk about a set up for failure, right? The thing is, I felt like I had nothing to lose since I was already frustrated and not where I wanted to be. So I figured why not?

Well, it's been no looking back ever since. Yes, I've had meals or days or weeks since then when I've fallen off the wagon. Yes it was hard work to make the decision to try and follow through on that decision during the busy and tempting holiday season. The key was I was determined and had a team of people in this group cheering me on. That was the magic that had been missing for me when I tried to do it on my own.

Hurdle #1 for me was getting through Thanksgiving without blowing my newly adopted clean eating lifestyle. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I mean what's not to love? It's a holiday that centers around food and family! The big challenge though that first year was figuring out how to enjoy the wonders that are Thanksgiving dinner without sacrificing my goals.

It took a bunch of hours scouring the web for recipe ideas and more than a few tweaks but we did it. Since then, I've picked up even more tricks and tips that have made tackling the holidays far less terrifying than they once were.

Now I want to share those tricks with you!
